Mold Test Company was founded in 2011 in Gainesville, Ga. When I began working with them they had just a handful of employees in a cramped rented space. Now they are the largest environmental testing company in the country, with inspectors in every state. I helped them build their brand, including an in-depth website where clients can schedule inspections, purchase testing, and take surveys.
The challenge with this brand was finding a way to make something as ugly as mold visually appealing. I didn't want to turn away potential clients. The brand includes a combination of clean imagery on white backgrounds and red and maroon icons and illustrations.
While mold is shown where necessary on the website, I didn't want that to be the main focus. I wanted to focus on the solution, so the design is clean and functional. Conveying the important information clients need was the priority, along with getting them to schedule environmental testing. The site features an environmental survey that allows users to get a better understanding of how serious their mold problem is.
The logo is simple but effective, like the company's name. In a split second, you know exactly what they're about. I used a clean sans-serif font, with mold as the "o." It's instantly recognizable and has helped the company grow by leaps and bounds.
